Healing Boils Using Home Remedies

A boil can be very painful and irritating. It is a skin infection which start with redness of skin and a tender lump forms. Within a few days, it turns whitish as pus fills up. Staphylococcal bacteria mostly cause this infection and enter our body through cuts or reach down the hair length to the follicle, causing a boil. Here are some of the best remedies that will help cure boils effectively.

Milk: Milk paste on affected areaMilk has anti-bacterial properties that can be very helpful in the treatment of boils. Heat 1 cup of milk and add 3 teaspoons of salt in it. Simmer the milk for ten minutes. Then add flour or crumbled bread pieces to thicken the mixture. Apply this mixture directly on the boil for at least 15 minutes at a time, four times a day.

Indial Lilac (Neem): Neem pasteNeem leaves, also known as Indian lilac or margosa, is a well known blood purifier as well as a germ remover. It is the best cure for boils. Grind neem leaves and make a paste. Apply this paste on the affected areas. You could also boil neem leaves in water until the quantity of water reduces to one-third. Now use this water to rinse the affected area.

Turmeric: Turmeric powderTurmeric is a strong anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties which are very useful in treating many health conditions, including boils. You can add a teaspoon of raw turmeric powder to a glass of warm milk and have twice daily, if you have boils of any part of your body. This will help prevent infections and provide quick healing.

Warm Compress: Warm compressApply warm compress and soak the boil in warm water. This will decrease the pain and help draw the pus to the surface. Once the boil comes to a head, it will brust with repeated soaking. This usually occurs within 10 days of its appearance. You can make a warm compress by soaking a wash cloth in warm water and squeezing out the excess moisture. to get quick relief, practice this process for six times a day.

Onions: Onion slicesOnions have antiseptic chemicals that act as an effective antimicrobial when used for boil treatment. Take an onion and cut into slices. Place a slice on the boil and cover the boils with these onion slices. Then use either bandage or cloth to hold the slice in that place. Make sure to change this onion for every 3-4 hours for few days to bring the boil to heal faster.

Garlic: Garlic pasteGarlic has antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can be used to treat boils. Take fresh garlic cloves. Crush them by adding little bit of water and make a paste. Apply this paste on the boil and allow it dry for few minutes. Then take out the paste and clean the area with a soft cloth. Do this process twice a day daily.
