Simple Remedies For Toothache


Toothache or tooth pain is caused when the nerve to a tooth is irritated. Toothache is pain in and around the teeth and jaws that is most often caused by tooth decay. The first sign of decay may be the pain you feel when you eat something sweet, very cold or very hot. If you have toothache than follow some home remedies to relieve the tooth pain:


Clove oil is the most effective home remedy for tooth pain of any kind. It is easiest and most effective ways to relieve the discomfort. Grind two whole cloves and mix in a little olive oil or any vegetable oil. Apply this remedy simply on your mouth or near the tooth that hurt. Repeat this process several times per day as needed to relieve pain.

Ice Cubes:Ice cubes

Ice can help to relief the tooth pain by numbing the nerve ending. It can decrease the discomfort by reducing both the tooth pain and swelling. Put an ice cube on the aching tooth or on the nearest cheek for 15 minutes at least 3 or 4 times a day but not more than 15 minutes each time.

Salt Water: Salt water

One of the simple and easiest toothache relief home remedy is rinsing with warm salt water. It reduces the risk of tooth infection and gums. One teaspoon of salt into a glass of warm water. Rinse your mouth several times and spit it out. Do this daily for several days.

Baking Soda:Baking Soda

Baking soda contains a high level of sodium. It can help to relief from tooth pain. One tablespoon of baking soda into half cup of water. You can also add a pinch of salt to this mixture. Apply this mixture around the painful area near the tooth. It will get rid of a lot of bacteria in your mouth.


Onion has natural antibacterial and you can use it to fight a toothache. It can provide relief form pain by killing the harmful germs in the mouth. Slice a piece of fresh onion and hold it inside your mouth for few minutes to relieve the pain.
