Bad breath, which is also called halitosis, is an embarrassing health condition.  This is a common problem found among people around the world. This is not a disease and it can be prevented easily once you find out the reason for bad breath.  This condition is caused by the accumulation of bacteria in the mouth due to the presence of food particles in the mouth, gum diseases. Foods which have a strong smell such as garlic and onions can increase the bad breath. There are many natural home remedies which will help you to control the problem of bad breath.

Drink Water:Drink WaterWater is an easily available natural remedy to get rid of bad breath. Rinsing with water regularly removes the food particles and bacteria and keeps your breath fresh.

Lemon Juice: Lemon JuiceLemon help freshen your breath. The acidic content in lemon prevents growth of bacteria in your mouth. Squeeze lemon juice into a glass of water and use this as a mouth wash. You can also add salt in it. This remedy will help to solve the problem of dry mouth which is one of the main reasons that contribute to bad breath.


Cloves have antibacterial properties that helps to get rid of the bacterial growth and other infections of the mouth which may cause bad breath. Chew one-two cloves after every meal to eliminate bad breath in few minutes. This remedy will provide fresh breath for long time.


Fenugreek has properties which heal the conditions caused due to bad breath and respiratory tract problems. It improves the production of saliva and reduces the growth of bacteria in the oral cavity. Take some fenugreek seeds and make a tea using them and drink this tea at least thrice a day. Add one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds to about half a liter of water and simmer this for at least 15 minutes before drinking.

Apple Cider Vinegar:Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is well known for its antiseptic properties and antimicrobial properties. The acid present in the apple cider vinegar reduces the growth of bacteria in the mouth and also helps to remove the plaque which causes bad breath. Mix one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in one glass of water and drink this before eating the meals. This remedy will get rid of bad breath.


Eat yogurt for six weeks, to get rid of bad breath totally. Yogurt contains good bacteria which fights the bacteria found in the mouth, thereby cleaning the body and getting rid of bad breath.
